Hi Ahmet, great release, love the added native support for c4d shaders. One problem I've found is that OctaneSky Fog doesn't render properly anymore (please see attached images, same exact scene rendered by 2019.1.5-R2 and 2020.1-R3). Also, there is a big difference in rendering times.
Has changed anything about Fog since 2019 release? I've tried three different foggy scenes I had and they all present the same problem, they all render out very dark or black, I've tried to play with parameters but I can't seem the get the exact same look as the old ones. Also, "Emulate old volume behavior" seems to have no effect.
Could you help with that, please? I'm on C4D R20 if that can help. Please let me know if you need to inspect this scene.
Thanks,
Domenico

Native C4D noises looks different when "Use OSL for C4D Noise" is enabled than if they are baked. It not only that they are much more scaled but parameters like "Octaves" works different. Native octaves paremeter add more octaves but when OSL is enabled it do nothing and this is why they are much more blurred compared to native ones.
Please try to change octaves parameter with "Use OSL..." enabled and disabled. LV restarting is needed.

Noises are surely different, we're not having base noise type to implement. You should not use that if you need %100 same output as Native noises. Just disable it soSSmolak wrote:Native C4D noises looks different when "Use OSL for C4D Noise" is enabled than if they are baked. As I see only Octaves parameter works different like clamped to one value - probably 2 or 3. This is why they are less detailed and blurred - Buya noise for example.aoktar wrote:Noises are surely different, we're not having base noise type to implement. Ok I was wrong. Most of the textures looks the same ( only that they are oversized ) and octaves works too but there are issues only with few of them.

Use the actual scale is possible.
Here is the scene with the fog problem, thank you Ahmet.

Check your scene, object scale.

Thank you for the help, @eyeonestudio.
Yes, the object is pretty big, my main concern though is why in 2020.1 I can't see nothing with the frontal camera, while with 2018/2019 it worked out. If you try to look thru the frontal camera in your scene (scene attached) it's still all black, tweaking the light won't help to get the proper original look.
Would love to know what changed with the fog system in Octane core, so that might help to get back the original look, which, additionally, rendered even much quicker (with 2019 release).
