Sample scene and instruction for repro it please!divasoft wrote:I found artifact in new release. A horizontal or vertical strip that shifts when i rotate camera.
The artifact does not appear in all cases. Some osl textures and noise in the scattering channel in OctaneFogVolume

So I am seeing absolutely no performance increase between RTX on and off with a single RTX 2080 Super inside cinema 4d. Installed the latest studio driver 442.92. I have c4d r21 version 21.207. I have tried loading a few old scenes as well as making new ones and whether its on or off under device settings my render times are showing no difference at all. Am I missing something? Is it only active in certain scenarios? When i look in live viewer it does say rtx on and off, but there is no performance difference.
I tried to include a scene file but it says extension not allowed when trying to attach it.

If in Octane camera tag I turn on sampling mode the image in the viewport gets distorted.

Same issue here, I'm getting better performance with RTX turned off. But when using the OctaneBenchMark 2019, RTX shows 2 to 3 times speed increase.Broccoli wrote:So I am seeing absolutely no performance increase between RTX on and off with a single RTX 2080 Super inside cinema 4d. Using RTX 2080ti + C4D R20.059
So I exported my scene from .c4d to a .ocs to the standalone 2020.1 and ran the RTX performance test, I also see no improvement in standalone. But I did run the 2019 bench and got a 3x improvement.FH wrote:Same issue here, I'm getting better performance with RTX turned off. Update: Built a scene using primitives, a light, and a daylight environment and still no RTX performance boost when running the RTX Perfomrance Test under scripts. I attached the scene i made in stand alone, I don't use it ever so hopefully I set it up right to be a valid test.

RTX performance is not directly related with plugin, it's up to core. Also there's not a rule as every scene will show a performance boost. My advice for you trying different scenes and also provide some scenes to us, I'll ping core team to invistage for possible improvements.

Hello,
I have been having an issue with launching Octane I am currently running the latest version of Cinema 4D R20 and the latest studio drivers.
I can get cinema to open OctaneStudio-for-C4D-2019_1_5-R3-win
but if I try to go any version that is newer of 2019 or 2020 my cinema 4d gets stuck on launch at initializing plugins. If I downgrade versions of octane it works fine.
not sure how to get this to work.
Thank You
Thomas

Did you deleted other octane cdl64 and xdl64 files, keep R20 build only? This mentioned in install notes.iamcyclo wrote:Hello,

Here is a test scene that i made in c4d and sent to standalone, i get no RTX boost at all in standalone or c4d, its actually slower with rtx reporting a .88 speedboost using RTX
