I would like to know whick workflow is used by octane ? Best to use universal material ?

Hi HHbomb,
metalness, keep in mind to use grayscale image node setting gamma to 1 (except for albedo).

what do you mean all with gamma 1? bump, dispalce, rogh?


Where do you have the documentation on that?

Interesting, Does that mean AmbientOclussion and Normal maps also should be set to Gama 1 or AO should be 2.2 since it's used as multiply on Albeido (no separate AO input in Universal material) ?

Newbie question, but so what.

on RGB Image ->

albedo - 2,2

specular - 1,0

roughness - 1,0

bump - 1,0

normal - 1,0

its right so?

Yes it is right.

Some extra hint: Use windows file explorer with thumbnails to large and just drag and drop the texture from there to your texture slot. :) Its faster (in case you have two screens).

I use connecter and Adobe bridge... I realized that using the standard 3ds max Bitmap make problem

I use Connector for models and HDRI images only. Its the only tool for me where HDR images display properly in preview. For ready materials I have libraries in 3dsmax and for texture creation I use the simple windows file explorer. I find the 3dsmax file browser a bit slow when it comes to thumbnails and large images like 8k.
