when you render region in ipr and update a material setting, the ipr window renders the region correctly and leaves the previous render outside the region as it was. The saved export file renders out a super noisy render. I'm guessing the ipr window doesn't update outside the region but the render buffer does ?

Yes, I think that the problem is something like that. The IPR window stores on the plugin side the full-frame rendered image inside the OpenGL buffer, but the internal Octane buffer that is used while saving images from the IPR doesn't have this behavior.

OKay, it would be nice to to able to render regions of the frame and save out the render as shown in the IPR window
