Hi Paul,

I have a request to add a missing feature : Visible Environment. Please take a look at viewtopic.php?f=44&t=72407&p=377687#p377687. See if you add this for us. It is present in the 2019.1.5 Standalone as well as in other plugins.

Just want to check with you if there is a way I can export the Octane material from Daz and import it in Houdini ? I will be using Octane render on both. The export material under the Octane System Tab exports all the materials on the scene right ? What about if I just want to export a selected object's Octane Materials ? Will you be able to add such an option ? Aim is e.g. I set the skin shader of the Daz G8F in the NGE in Daz and then export this Octane Material that contains all the surfaces for the G8F. After exporting G8F as OBJ and importing into Houdini, I then import the Octane Material I exported from Daz and assign it to G8F in Houdini and then render in Octane under Houdini.

The export of the materials can be in the Octane native format. If required I will ask the Houdini plugin developer to provide a import option that will read the Octane native format Material file and assign it correctly to all the object surfaces.

Rajib
Hi. You should be able to export an individual material to ORBX via the Materials tab Export button. If you use the System tab Export buttons, you should get an ORBX file containing all the materials in the scene. I don't think there is a way to export a specific objects material (other deleting all other object in the scene and then exporting the scene).

Paul, I already have the "Denoise" ticked under the Device list for one of my graphic cards. So that is not the issue.
Untick "Denoise on Completion" is you want the denoiser to work prior to the completion of the render.

Hi Paul,

I don't use "Denoise On Completion". I always have "Enable Denoising - ON" and "Denoise volumes - ON". I will test it on some other scene. But that running yellow bar in the Octane Viewport with no messages in the system tab and Rebuild Scene, Pause / Continue etc not working is making this version fairly hard to test. All I get is "Building Geometry" and the running bar a lot of times and on scenes that loaded previously and after saving will often not load again and give that running yellow bar.

Rajib

Before loading one of these scenes load a prop into a blank scene after opening Daz and open the viewport so it begins rendering(no materials needed).

Then close the viewport and load your scene as normal.

For some reason the plugin gets stuck on creating geometry for the first time on some saved scenes.

This workaround has not failed me so far.
