hey this is more of a question. in ue4 texture editor when I change the max Texture resolution does this affect the resolution used in octane or not ?

At the moment it caps out at 2k. The cap is based on the unreal default max in game.

You can change the system ini files to increase the max resolution, and when you are using HDRI, your HDRI cube map will be much higher res also.
