Sorry - I unsubscribed to that thread with all the anti-Paul talkAny progress made to figure out why the wrong position is occurring in Octane Viewport compare to Daz Viewport (viewtopic.php?f=44&t=72407&start=10#p372978) ? I hope the scene file attached in that post helped you to investigate the issue. This really needs to be solved as more and more of my scenes are having this issue. Can it be related to world / local coordinates ?

With 2020.1 XB3 and 2020.1 XB3, Daz Octane frequently becomes stuck infinitely building geometry. Reloading or rebuilding the geometry does not fix this, neither does starting a final render, or closing and re-opening the render view port.
This does not occur for me with 2019_1_5_49.

If this happens - check the Octane Log window in the System tab for errors. Ah. Well, I guess everyone is just venting because of some long standing issues which has been very frustrating for us. But do keep a eye on that thread. Found a few more things that I would be reporting. Some are probably Octane related to will report it directly to them and looking for some improvements that I will put in that thread.face_off wrote:Sorry - I unsubscribed to that thread with all the anti-Paul talkAny progress made to figure out why the wrong position is occurring in Octane Viewport compare to Daz Viewport (viewtopic.php?f=44&t=72407&start=10#p372978) ? As for the scene rendering okay for you. That is very odd. For me every time it has an issue. Same result via the result mode and testing with Visual Studio debugger ? Rebuild scene will fix that scene but initial load will always be in the wrong orientation for that file. May I know what version of Daz Studio you are running ? I will try to reinstall DAZ and see if that gets rid of the issue.

I have encountered this too.Nothing in the Octane Log Window and clicking the Pause and Continue does not restart it like it used to do in the earlier versions. I see CPU activity but no disk I/O or memory increase / decrease. Looks like it is looping somewhere. Also a lot of times when this happens, I get a hourglass when the mouse moves over the Daz / Octane window and Daz shows "Not responding".face_off wrote:If this happens - check the Octane Log window in the System tab for errors. Perhaps try starting with a clean OctaneRender_settings.oczdb.As for the scene rendering okay for you. That is very odd. For me every time it has an issue. There is nothing in the Octane log, and pause and continue does not fix the issue, neither does deleting OctaneRender_settings.oczdb.

OK, thank you. I haven't been able to reproduce this error. It could perhaps be caused by a specific geometry item in the scene, or some parenting which is glitching the plugin. If you find out any more information on this issue, please let me know. There is nothing in the Octane log, and pause and continue does not fix the issue, neither does deleting OctaneRender_settings.oczdb.

Paul, this did not work. Objects still load in different position / orientation than how they load in the Daz Viewport. Btw. for you did it load properly and render without doing a rebuild scene ?face_off wrote:Perhaps try starting with a clean OctaneRender_settings.oczdb.As for the scene rendering okay for you. Btw. Paul, do you have a old scene file created with V3 / V4 ? Can you open it in 2019 / 2020 and then save, close and reopen. Does that render properly ? Though I have faced this is fresh scenes created in 2019, most of my scenes are from what I did earlier that I am trying to re-render with the latest version of my custom character. Apart from the OOC issue which Otoy is looking into, this weird transpose / rotate issue is a major pain point. I also did a export of the scene. It shows the wrong orientation in Octane Standalone like it did in the Daz Octane Viewport. Both were different from Daz Viewport. So definitely something triggers a wrong calculation sometimes within the plugin.
