Hello,
I really try to use Octane as my main render but your OOC implementation drives me nuts.

different stages of ooc:
-some meshes or proxys are missing
-some shader with displacement are just black
-forest pack-objects won't appear
-viewport crashes and tells me to look at the log (out of memory)
-viewport crashes and tells me immediately that it has not enough memory and max crashes with the next try
-max crashes immediately

Every file is a new surprise.
How i'am supposed to work like that or even think that octane is reliable in a production scenario?

I am using the latest driver and software.

have you tried to increase gpu head room. I agree out of core needs to be fixed

@coilbook
I increased the headroom to 1024mb but its no reliable solution.

I exported some of my scenes as orbx and the standalone seem to work fine.

Hi darstellungsart,
it could depends on the amount of VRAM and RAM in you PC.
Are you using Windows 10 or 7?
Which (and how many) GPUs on board?

@paride4331
hello,
currently, I am using 4x RTX 2080 Ti with a 2990WX and 64GB RAM (non-ECC)
WIndows 10 18362.592

Is there a combination of OS, max and octane which is better suited for OCC?

Hey Paride

This problem is already well known, I myself have reported several times and seen other people complaining.
It's related to how many polys a single object has, something like this... because deleting a tree that I had in the scene works again.
Another solution was to increase gpu head room. (Although it has no relation, second Manual)

You guys have got to stop pushing on the consumer side.

my setup; 6x 2080 Ti (with NVLINK so ... 22GB vram) / 128 GB Ram

has at least three more... ...but I couldn't find it.

Hi samsue,
could you kindly to share your tree issued scene (in pm if you want) please?
Nvlink works on Quadro RTX at the moment.
Please check yuo've installed Nvidia driver 441.66 (studio) and not DHC but standard, keep in mind 441.66 could be game ready and DHC, but it's wrong.
This is Nvidia driver 441.66 (studio) and not DHC:
https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverR ... 5646/en-us
1 Right click the Start button and select Control Panel.
2 Make your way to System and Security.
3 Click System.
4 Click Advanced system settings from the left sidebar.
5 Select the Hardware tab.
6 Press the Device Installation Settings button.
7 Choose No, and then press the Save Changes button.
8 Unistall the Nvidia drivers using [DDU Nvidia unistaller drivers](http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/dis ... nload.html) (safe mode unistall)
9 install the latest Nvidia driver https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverR ... 5646/en-us

2. We are usingthe current version of nvidia studio
3. I've done that process several times, honestly it never helped. I'll even try again.

- Do you know how the v-ray octane converter material is doing?
