I've had similar issues with crashing with projects created with older versions 4.0 or earlier. Crashes happen immediatly upon opening, or when sent to the Live Viewer or to Render. Attached is the bug report. Thanks for your time.

Looks like a crash on the engine! Can you share some example scenes to investigate?ChrisPettit wrote:I've had similar issues with crashing with projects created with older versions 4.0 or earlier. This build is, in general, very stable! However some issues I have found:
1. Since V4, in the live view window: if I toggle the clay mode before starting the render, the switch between the modes freezes C4D and takes aaaages to recover the UI. After this, it works fine.
2. I get lots of crashes when I try to render with the primary GPU deactivated, Dont know if some else also had this issue.
Cheers,

Quick update:
I got 2019.1.5 to install on a new computer fine. It shows up and everything like it always has when installing the octane plugin. It is weird because it's installed in the exact same C4D plugin folder in the exact same place on my main machine and does not show up at all on that one. However the older versions of 2019 do... so no clue what that's about.
On to the next issue. On the new machine, which is running 2019.1.5, any time I add a volume object it crashes about 90% of the time. If I try to scale it, move it, or pretty much do anything with it, it freezes and crashes C4D. I can do the work around and use a cube that has a spec material and tweak it to create the volume look, but that limits zdepth passes as it cannot calculate through the spec cube.
Just wanted to update you on these issues. Of course I may be the only one having this problem. I am running a network render ( one machine has 2 x 1070 cards and the other has an RTX 2060 ) so I'm not sure if that would be an issue with the volume crashing issue.
As always, thanks for all of your hard work!

2-Be sure you don't have much voxel counts on your volume object. Increase voxel size to have less voxel counts. Also I've fixed an issue about volume object that immediately crashed, re-download it. But not sure that's same thing.
