Activated log options can cause that. Try without that

unfortunately, this is not solving the issue. but what i found out is that these node editing freezes do never happen when i edit materials of the same scene in release 4.0.4. so for now i edit all materials whith 4.0.4 then reload plugin and scene and do the other setup with 2018.1.3 - seems to render a bit faster.
Specs: Apple MacBook Pro M1 max 64GB 2TB, MacOS 12.5 / MacPro 5,1 with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 8G, MacOS 10.13.6 / Mac Pro 5,1 with AMD RX5700 8G, MacOS 12.3.1 / HP Z600 with NVIDIA 3060 RTX 12G, Windows 10 pro + Netstor GPU box, 4 x NVIDIA GTX 980ti 6G.

It is working great! Thanks! I appreciate some of the new node features included in this build.
However I have seen you included some of the new 2019 displacements features in the engine tab (Max subdivision level?) in 2018.3 R2 and 4.05 R3.
Wasn't this supposed to be only in 2019's build?

Another issue I noticed in R21: sometimes the material preview is not refreshing correctly in material manager window. I attach a small video.
