Hi,

This plugin version has been updated to the build 2019.1.0.1 including the long-awaited spectron volumetric spotlights feature!

Attached you have an example scene with this new feature.

Thanks!

Hey Juanjgon :)

Is it possible to add noise in the volumetric light and reduce grainy rendering ?

I think that currently, it is not possible to link noise nodes to the scattering in Octane 2019.1, but I've seen that this is one of the features of Octane 2019.2, as far as I know.

Thanks,
-Juanjo

A microscopic glitch, Juanjo: it should say "barn" doors, not "ban" :)

There was information that soon there will be an opportunity to purchase a permanent license for Octane 2018/2019. How, then, will it be possible to switch from an annual subscription to a permanent license - without taking into account the cost of the annual license or taking into account its cost?

@Siggraph - we’re not done with you yet!

Octane 2019.2 XB1 is out - with huge new features:

- Spectral random walk and hair
- Vulkan RTX acceleration (experimental)
- huge speed boost with new spectron area / sphere lights
- GPU volume displacement
- Vectron Volumes
- New Universal Dirt / curvature system (with OSL)

And finally, monthly studio subs now get: NV Link, multi-GPU RTX acceleration and all access for all DCC plugins (Enterprise subs & perpetual 2019 licenses also coming soon!)
