I have seen a lot of posts when c4d crashes when rendering to RQ, but in my case c4d crashes when rendering to picture viewer... It uses all the RAM and then it crashes. When i render my scene using render queue, enerything is just fine, RAM usage never exceeds 60 % (scene contains a lot of scattered grass, RAM is 16gb, GTX 1070Ti, Octane v 4.02.1-R3)
P.S. I have posted this here because its the only topic when i see "create topic" button. Please do not delete this and relocate it to c4d discussion.
c4d crash - picture viewer vs render queue

Hey,
some times i have crashes too
and other mysterious issues randomly...
And sometimes it crashes in Standalone (2018-1-2) too, when i want to export a file.
I only made a reinstall and a restart - nothing else, than it starts to work better.
I do not know why...
Now i started to use octane like handling eggs - doing things slowly - stop the realtime preview - click and wait, not click, and clikc, and click = crash
Because it feels like stopping the preview i get less crashes when modifiying values - but thats another topic.
I hope u get rid of it.

Guys,
Did you try with 4.04 or 2018.1.2? What's crashes? What's OS? What's C4D version numbers?
Also be aware that triangle counts can be different between Live Viewer and Picture Viewer. We've explained it in manual or FAQ section.
