Hi!
I'm getting some strange behaviour from the volumetric spotlight and I'm wondering if I'm just doing it wrong?
This is the result I get, which actually makes the image darker in the cone of the spot and then brighter in the surroundings:
IT also seems that the cone in the viewport isn't quite matching with the cone of the rendered light and I'm not sure how to reduce or increase the falloff.
Any idea what I might be doing wrong?
Thanks!
Negative light from volume spot

Yeah likewise. I can't work out if it's me or if it's bugged though.creativenuts wrote:having the same problem myself. also notice that the beam isn't stopped by the object, it comes out of the other side,
I'd really love it if Otoy would do what Insydium do and with every new update they put out a video demonstrating how the new features work.
Hi,
in the Scattering Medium of the Spectron light, set the Absorption at 0 Black, and low gray values for Scattering parameter: ciao Beppe

I don't know how you are getting that spotlight. Im trying the same settings as you but still get the dark spot and the light goes through the object and out the other side.
Also as you can see, my spotlight is wide but not in the picture viewer.
I like how your spotlight has soft edges, that is what Ive been trying to get.
Im having to render a pass in C4D standard render to get spotlights in my scene.
Also I was hoping to have some noise in the spotlight beam like you can with the standard render ones.

Hi,
try to reduce a lot also the Scattering value, it seems still at 0.5.
About noise, currently is not possible in this setup.
Here is my test scene: ciao Beppe
