I think that the Houdini version available on Steam is the conventional Indie version, so yes, the plugin should work on it. The only limitations are that the sequence rendering resolution is limited to 4k (no limits for stills) and the .orbx scene export and cloud rendering functions are disabled.seriawp wrote:Octane working with Houdini Indie Steam Version?

As you say, the current Octane versions with full support are the 2018.1 and the upcoming 2019.x ones. But in any case, this 4.02 build could probably have at least another update to fix some core issues and add any new Houdini production build available. No new features are planned for the 4.02 plugin version though.snakeboxmedia wrote:Just so some of us can prepare I guess? But I'm curious about what the typical practice is with octane versions.
I am referring to the fact that octane v4 is no longer the newest build, 2018 I believe? its officially out in a stable version right? and well 2019 builds will eventually start coming out in daily build versions, but will V4 get any further updates from now on? I'm not asking OTOY to support it for years, but since I'm a fairly new license holder in the grand of things, I am just curious what I can expect if I don't upgrade my license to get access to 2018 for instance?
Thanks!
