Recently updated Windows 10 and NVIDIA drivers and am now getting regular crashes. I am able to use Octane for a while, but it seems to crash when the camera is Panoramic and stereo is set to Over-under.

Windows 10 Pro - 1803 - build 17134.137
NVIDIA - 398.36
Cinema 4D - R19.053
OctaneRender 3.08.1-R2

CUDA error 700 on device 1: an illegal memory access was encountered
-> kernel synchronization failed
CUDA error 700 on device 0: an illegal memory access was encountered
-> failed to allocate device memory
device 0: failed to allocate post-proc buffers

Thanks!

Hi,
it’s probably Nvidia drivers related.
Try to use DDU to completely remove the installed Nvidia drivers:

Then try to install 391.35 Nvidia drivers:

Thank you for your advice with this Beppe, it fixed my same cuda 700 error.

I had the most up to date drivers installed - 418.91 but this caused octane to have cuda 700 error. You advice of installing driver 391.35 fixed it.

How does everybody know what driver version to use?

Is it best that I stay on driver 391.35 do you think?

Thanks!

Hi,
this is an old discussion, now the more stable drivers are 417.22/417.71, unfortunately we have discovered that Nvidia 418.81/418.91 drivers are not compatible with OctaneRender:
