Hi !
I've been looking to make an eclipse look in C4D, and I'm struggling with the atmospheric light rays (like in this picture : https://imgur.com/a/EMyym8T).
So I've made a disc object and applied to it a diffuse material with a solar flare noise surface in the alpha channel (https://imgur.com/a/uKXQCVq) and nothing more.
The thing is, when I try to render it with Octane, I have a very pixelated result (https://imgur.com/a/VROwioU).
I don't know why I get that. I've tried with all the projection types but it doesn't seem to work, neither with other objects like a plan, a cube or anything.
Maybe Octane just can't handle that kind of noise.
Do you have any suggestion on why it doesn't work, or how I could get the result I look for ?
Thanks in advance for you answers,
Rbourcois

Ok guys, never mind. I've found the source of my problem.
For those interested in the way to fix that, it was just the preview of my material that fucked up. I switched from Default to 4K preview, and the result looked much better (https://imgur.com/a/PSJxJZ4).
Cheers !

You should not use C4D textures as much as possible if you wish quality/speed and full control.rBourcois wrote:Ok guys, never mind. I've found the source of my problem.
