What is Octane doing when it says 'copying document'? I can't render a file I was rendering quite happily all week. It just hangs c4d when 'copying document'. I've tried trashing Octane and c4d prefs, but didn't work.

It's creating a copy of the current document. You do nothing about a fix. Problem should be a different thing if you render this file before. Maybe you changed somethings in scene. Delete some parts of scene and try again until find the problem.

It happens a lot. Anyway, I find that if I start c4d with a blank document, then open the live viewer and get it running, then open the problem document, it all works.

"What It means, start a blank doc?" He is opening a new scene. It seems the problem does not occur if the LV is launched before the problem scene is loaded.

It happens a lot. Anyway, I find that if I start c4d with a blank document, then open the live viewer and get it running, then open the problem document, it all works.

It would help if you describe the exact steps. Or show it by a video. Because I never seen this.

exact steps to give problem:

start c4d > open document > start live viewer > octane says 'copying document' then hangs

exact steps to avoid problem:

start c4d > start live viewer > open document > works normally


this problem doesn't always happen - but it does quite a lot
