Hi,
How can I convert a complex mesh into a vectron node in XB1?
Best wishes,
Thomas

Currently you need to convert the mesh into an SDF with a tool like Houdini, then export to VDB.

Any VDB levelset surface can be used with vectron.

Do you have plans to add your own "mesh to VDB converter" to Octane?

We're planning to make meshes work as part of vectron, but it is a difficult problem to solve. Plan B would be a mesh to vdb levelset converter yes. No guarantees as yet.

I hope a level set convertor makes the cut.

Just adding to this.

A slightly different request for vectron.

Would it be possible to render a vectron object with a volume shader. So if I take a vdb sphere , covert to vectron and add noise displacement. Then I can use a volume shader to render it as clouds. It would be nice to have that as an option.

Regards
Rohan
