Any help will be much appreciated. I am now moving a step higher on learning animation with octane :D and max plugin and stuck again.. :D .

I have one plane and one ball that move from one corner of the plane to the other. Done the modeling, export to octane, apply material etc and save. After rendering, what I would imagine to have is the ball, fully textured, and moving. Using the plugin, I cant seem to make it works, because:

1. When I choose “use existing project”, and tick the camera only, it renders everything (textured) apart from the ball stood still and not moving or
2. When I choose “use existing project”, and not ticking the camera only, it renders the animation, but the whole scene is not textured..

Any idea how to make this works? Thanks.

The "camera only" tick is for flythru animations, the mesh and scene that you have already created stays the same and only the camera moves. If you want to animate your objects leave that untick.
About the "no textures" problem could be related to this http://www.refractivesoftware.com/forum ... 49&start=0http://www.refractivesoftware.com/forum ... =30&t=3721 I haven't test it myself, try using pre2.3_v1 o v2

im using the 2.3 one actualy, (the one with online activation), i havent actualy try on the older version. But if this is another bug, i reckon octane lads need to sort this thing out before doing anything else, as this is very basic,..

well, I tried to do a simple animation in max, I created 3 teapots a plane and a camera, I assigned 4 different materials. I used max's plugin, I selected new scene, and rendered with octane, there I created 4 materials nodes and attached them to the obj, so when I had all ready I saved the scene, exited octane and in max I animated the teapots and the camera, launched the plugin again and did a short 9 frame animation using a existing scene (the one I had configured) and it all worked fine. So I'm not sure where the problem is cause I haven't been able to reproduce it. I'm using pre 2.3_4. Could you try it again and do a step by step or upload the test scene you are using?

Great kubo, this is the solution :D
The problem stay also for 1.23.5 but if I create a node material for each material of the node mash all works perfectly :D
At the first try I don't get it because I forgot to do a material node also for the "__default" node and at reopen of the .ocs all the nodes were mess up :(

thanx again kubo :)

I think we are all having the same problem. Would one of you mind trying to animate with an emitter and report what you find? In my experience (blender and C4D) the materials all save fine except the emitter assigned material, it defaults back to original.

If I open the .ocs through octane it remembers the emitter fine. But if i try to render based off that .ocs, from blender or C4D, it forgets the emitter.

My first animation with emitter is cooking but with my little GTX 285, octane need all the weekend, maybe I can post something on monday.
I can confirm that with node material for each node of the mash node I can render animation with emitters smoothly ;)

Okay, this is the clip of my attempt to move a ball:

video a bit jerky but you'll get the point,.. as you will see the animation render has offset the saved ocs scene and render only the geometry without texture.
