I have Octane standalone version 3.08.3 on all nodes and on the workstation with the server. I get the ‘invalid version’ error for the two nodes that I am trying to use (see attachment). Each node has one graphics adapter. I updated the Nvidia drivers but I still get this error for both nodes. The workstation renders fine by itself, but I would like to use render nodes as well. In case it matters, the Lightwave plugin is also the latest version 3 level; 3.08.0.10.
Any ideas for what is causing my issue?
Trouble with network rendering 3.08.3

Hi,
The Standalone to be used with the 3.08.0.10 plugin is the 3.08 version. You have all the links in the forum post for this build:

But in any case, now that you are going to need to install a new Standalone version, why not updating all your systems to the latest Octane 3.08 build?

Remember that you have always the right Standalone version for each plugin build in the forum releases topics.
Thanks,

As in my text above, the Standalone at the workstation and nodes are currently at the latest level; 3.08.3. But what you are indicating is the latest level Lightwave plugin only works with the 3.08 build. So, I have to uninstall the latest level Standalone to install the 3.08. I will do this and let you know the results.juanjgon wrote:Hi,

The latest 3.08 Octane Standalone and LightWave plugins available are the 3.08.5 ... you should try to use them in your systems if possible because they have a lot of fixes from the original 3.08.0 version.

Thanks for the link in your last message. I also want to thank you for the hard work that you put into developing and maintaining the Octane for Lightwave plugin, which to me works much better than the Maya plugin.juanjgon wrote:The latest 3.08 Octane Standalone and LightWave plugins available are the 3.08.5 ... you should try to use them in your systems if possible because they have a lot of fixes from the original 3.08.0 version.

After installing the newer software, my network rendering works as expected.

My trouble with software levels was caused by what I see in my account licenses page. It does not provide access to the latest software levels. Since I had not been in this forums for a while, I didn't think/remember the only place to find the latest level was in the forums. I figured the link/button in the account licenses list would have also provided access to the latest levels (but it doesn't).
Yes, sorry for that. One of the goals for the upcoming Octane 4.00 and beyond releases is to try to have always the user's customer pages download links updated with the latest plugin versions.cyborgty wrote: My trouble with software levels was caused by what I see in my account licenses page.
