I have a complex model (glass, glossy materials, etc.) that requires a transparent background.
The lighting is a lightbox with three white discs: top, left, and right.
Sometimes I render angles with the hidden lights directly behind the model.

When I render, a noticeable white halo appears around the model including non-glossy materials.

If I untick the "Visible on Specular" checkboxes for these lights, the halo disappears, however I also lose some much desired highlights on the glossy mats. It's acting like rim lighting but it spreads to areas that I don't want.

Post processing is turned off.

How do I remove this halo?
Unfortunately, I cannot show this scene.

Thank you.

Hi lunarstudio,
I don't understand you very well.
Could you share with me (in PM) your scene via wetransfer using 3dsmax archive: File > archive?

Hi lunarstudio,
I saw your screenshot, you could try checking "keep environment" in Kernel type next "alpha channel" option.

Update. With Keep environment checked the glass in the background ends up going white. Without it, it is transparent again. I need this to be transparent.

"Affect Specular" doesn't exist in the Specular Material.
Only "Fake Shadows" and " "Affect alpha" underneath my glass material.
"Affect alpha" is checked.

Hi lunarstudio,
I told affect alpha not affect specular.
Said that, it should work, or what I see beyond the glass, in your scene, is not evironment as I supposed.

Hi lunarstudio,
To figure out, I have to test your scene, could you share in private message it, deleting partially scene, but leaving glasses, lights, sun, emitter objects, environment, camera.
Saving it as 3dsMax archive: file > archive.
