Hi Guys, really need help on this one.
I think what I want to use is SSS. Alas I haven't used this feature in Octane yet.
I have a flat surface that is used in some signage solutions where I live, and behind that surface are thousands of LED's. The effect allows for the material to be lit up from behind and create the illusion of movement on the surface, but it's only the lights behind the surface changing color. I kind of have the look with a specular material but I can not put a BMP on a diffuse channel, which I need.

Can anybody help?

It might not even be SSS. But how can I let light come through an object (a thin piece of vinyl) so that the surface lights up from behind.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Specular with roughness to diffuse the lights (presume this is the look you want) and mix it with a glossy to add opacity if desired?

Or try diffuse with transmission and again. mixed with glossy to get spec reflections

Should work fine using just a diffuse material with transmission set near 100.
