So at the risk of listing a bug that everybody is familiar with, I feel like I should at least put this out there in case it helps with debugging.

I have two 980TIs,
Win 10, latest Geforce, latest Cuda.

With heavier scenes, and even with CPU checked sometimes, I still get an occasional GPU Failure that I can't recover from. Closing photoshop and anything else won't fix the problem. I'd have to restart 3dsmax and THEN it works. Isn't there a way to 'fix' or 'reset' the GPUs without having to restart 3dsmax?

Hi dartfrog,
try to reduce Parallel sample
try to check "clear node cache when render" in Octane global setting > Trouble shooting.

After a few days of testing, this has not fixed the issue.

Hi DartFrog,
is this issue using Octane 3.08.x and cpu memory option?

4.00 RC4 - 6.07
Cuda v9.2
Geforce 416.16

i JUST upgraded to that Geforce driver and so far it's been behaving. I'll keep this current setup for a few days and see if I still get the same issue. I keep jumping around to different projects so when I'm in a scene that gives me trouble, I'll know for sure if it's an issue still.

Thanks for the prompt feedback.

Yes - this is still an issue.
1- It'll render fine
2 - Change something small like saturation level in a material
3 - GPU Failure
4 - Can't render any more without failure
5 - Restart max

If I close the render window, make my change, and re-launch, it renders.
This isn't with all scenes, just a handful.

I think -some- materials use GGX, but I'm not sure. Are you saying I should try with no GGX settings to test it out?

Hi Dartfrog,
We had GPU faillure in RC2 SDK switching to GGX and slidering.
Is this your case too?
