OctaneRender™ for Blender plugin. Windows, Linux and OSX versions. The download links provided are for Perpetual License Holders.

OctaneRender Studio subscribers can access their software from the "Downloads" section of their Customer Account Page.

This is a TEST version, so be prepared to have some issues. Do not use it for production.


  • New v4 XB4 features (please check at viewtopic.php?f=33&t=68283).
  • Support universal material
  • support light linking
    • Global light exclusion: "Render-Octane Kernal-Light"
    • Light linking for object: "Data-Octane Properties-Light pass mask"
  • Support new AI light and settings
  • Support UDIM
    • "Node graph-Octane Texture-Octane Image Tile Tex"
    • How to use:
      • Select the a uv texture in the target folder
      • Change the file pattern as the definition in SA
        • e.g. %uu-%vv.jpg with options(2*2 size, 2 digits) => 1u-1v.jpg, 1u-2v.jpg, 2u-1v.jpg, 2u-2v.jpg)
    • You can check current UV list in the console("Windows-Toggle System Console")
    • Support new light passes in v4 XB4(direct/indirect(ambient light, sunlight, light pass 1-8))
    • New features and refactored systems(these are included in 16.1).
    • New Render Pass System(including all passes and optinos in v4 xb4 SA)
      • New Passes: refract filter, transmission filter, postprocess, all lighting passes(ambient light, sunlight, light pass 1~8), position, texture tangent, motion vector, light pass id, render layer id, render layer mask, wireframe, object layer color, Baking Group ID, all Material Passes (opacity, roughness, ior, diffuse filter, reflection filter, refraction filter, transmission filter)
      • New Options: include environment, uv coordinate selection
      • Fix bugs: use rgba color for object id and material id passes
    • support scatter conversion with instance ids for duplication/array modifier/particle system (Please check samples in ScatterFeatures, same as what I sent before)
      • please note that the array modifier will break instances by default. To solve this, please introduce duplication while using array modifier
    • support node group.
      • now node group input value can be resolved independently in different materials. (Please check "node_group(made_by_JC).blend")

      • Add AI Light update and AI Light strength
      • Report warning when rendering denoise passes without enabling denoise
      • Add point type to draw bounds as points
      • Fix bug: Blend Angle option in the Triplanar Mapping node is not working

      The installation consists from two parts:
      1. OctaneRender™ Server
      2. Blender - OctaneRender™ edition.

      After starting OctaneServer it will take some time before the LiveDB tree and LiveDB material previews will be available from Blender - as OctaneServer caches the LiveDB data from remote server right after starting. But only the materials groups tree will be re-cached every time after server start, LiveDB material preview images will be cached only once - so only the very first OctaneServer start will need some more time before LiveDB tree will be available in Blender.
      After the server is run - you can start rendering (or open a rendered view) from inside Blender.


      DOWNLOAD (both distributives must be reinstalled, they depend on each other)

      - Just run the installer to see its command line keys.;)
      - If you need to run OctaneServer - run it as daemon:

      - Or, if you know what you are doing, you can use the ZIP archive to copy .app files manually.

      Please note, in regards to Bug Reporting:

      - Bug Reports in this section refer to plugin-specific bugs only. Bugs originating from the Octane Standalone should be reported to the Standalone Forum section instead

      - For faster troubleshooting, please provide as much information as possible. Please include:
      • Your Hardware specifications (unless they are included in your signature)
      • A clear description of the issue you have found
      • Steps that you took to trigger this bug, so that we can reproduce it (ideally, please also provide screenshots. If possible, files for testing would also be appreciated).
      • Whenever possible, please confirm that this issue is only happening in the plugin, and not also in the Standalone Edition (if the bug occurs in both, it is likely that this issue should be reported in the OctaneRender Standalone section of the Forums).
