Hi all.
If you look at the attached screenshot, you'll see that in my workspace window the texture looks to be centered, but once I add a displacement node, the entire thing shifts.
So why do I have a valley where I should have a mountain? Is it just my texture locator?

Hi - I suspect your displacement map texture is transformed or the UV coords on the mesh are wrong. Render a UV Coordinates render pass to check the later. If that doesn't not help, pls post the scene and displacement map here and I will take a closer look.
