As someone suggested me this is a better place to share this here it goes, thanks Beppe
Hi guys, I've been developing a live link between Substance Painter and multiple apps (modo, c4d, Houdini, maya, 3ds max, blender) and multiple renderers (vray, corona, Arnold, redshift,cycles... etc) but one of the most relevant was missing! Octane, finally after help and support from Otoy, I finally was able to implement it, and I started with the cinema 4d version, since is the one I received more requests...
anyway, long story short, here is a sneak peek, hopefully soon, i'll be able to integrate it in the other apps,
i'll share it here once is available
Substance Painter + Octane + C4D Live Link

This is awesome!
Does it work with UDIMS and multiple texture sets automatically? This is super tedious if you have a model with quite a lot of texture sets having to create and reapply materials...If so I'll be chucking my money at this!

The plugin is live!
Currently it doesn't work with UDIMs in c4d, haven't found a stable way of implementing them, if you know about it let me know, since im not that familiar with c4d yet, it works with UDIM's in all other softwares... but octane is not yet available

I can't wait to try this! Serious game changer if everything works as advertised!
Raise the price IMO
Thanks a lot
"...but octane is not yet available..."
Are you talking about this doesn't work for c4d octane? Or udims specifically?

Greetings, awesome plugin, totally a game changer in the octane/substance workflow
Have you tried the new Universal mode in the octane material¿? it could simplify greatly the texture assignments using the live link.
It lacks a emmisive channel thou but that is easy to add manually.
Thanks again for this awesome link between apps.
Best Regards.
Omar.

I have two ways and one with the universal material that I'm not sure yet
Use the link, then put it in the material 01 of a mix material, in the material 02 a diffuse octane one with all the maps plugged in and the emmisive desaturated and color corrected as a mask. also move the displacement to the mix material. (very convoluted)
or in the blend add a new material and do the same, emmisive, desaturated/color corrected as a mask with all the maps plugged and in diffuse mode. the displacement works better with this
remember to change the brdf to ggx to be more or less similar on how metallic PBR works
using the universal material as advertised is suposedly a 1:1 with the metallic maps but the results differ a lot.
The mos accurate one for me is the one only using the blend material generated by the link and adding the emmisive channel manually
Is better an image to show please check the attachments.
Thanks.
