Here i'm revisiting an old scene i had already rendered with mental ray. When i first bought Octane i thought i wouldn't be able to render such a scene...I stilll have 33%RAM free at 4096*2048
Octane rocks! Thx guys.

Here an update from the situation i'm heading to with my project.

I'm having some trouble with the scene actually it renders slower than normal (5000 samples after 4hours with the GTX470 on 2048*1024), i get a lot of noise and fireflies and i can't really detect which material is giving the problems...we'll see, All the materials are the same as in the first scene behalf the marmer from the "cocoon"
I've edited the rendering but it didn't come out so good i loose a lot of info in the noise cleaning.

I think i'll try the "rrpob" method or however it is called...:P

OK came house from work and the render was finished, 13h 20min on a GTX470 (2048*1024)

I found it quite much...maybe the trees or the carpet.

The samples gave some more definition on the textures, beter than before eitherway!

I think the problem might be related to a too high bump map power somewhere.
14 hours is not normal, you should be able to render this scene in max 2 hours or so with a GTX470,
so there's something wrong.

have you any bump maps that are higher than 0.2 in the 'power' parameter of them ?

I have been looking and i couldn't find a material with a bump higher than 0.17
Maybe it's a matter of drivers for the Nvidia i'll look it up.

This looks great!

It would definitely be nice to see a smoother render! Have you tried rendering out a larger size image and then downscaling it?
Also the back wall is a little too bright and is eating up the chair detail. Maybe try lowering the turbidity if you're using daylight system.
Nice work!
