Hi guys, im pulling my hair now as octane is crapping out on me. I attached this file, a simple internal model with no texture on it. File size is not that big either. I always end up with crashing octane no matter what i do.

I was using KilaD plugin to export the scene in order to get the camera position correctly (straight export and export the scene to ocs then load it manualy on octane). Boths attempt failed miserably with error saying ntldll.dll problem.

Could anyone try this scene and see if it works?

No crash here, although I had to re-make a camera for easier navigation.

Err..Sort of for me..Opens up if i manually export it and then open octane and import. Will not work with the plug in though. It goes through the export and then Octane Bombs out after it tries to open up. I'm using Max 2010 32bit with latest release of Octane and the plugin

Hi Radiance

Im using the new version; 2.3, the one with online activation. Im on win xp 32 bit, NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT, max 2009 (i think, i wil be able to provide you with more detail on this). I am using KillaD plugin, what happen was very much similar to Jaberwocky case, export the model using plugin, gone through the export process, opened up Octane interface, preparing for voxelisation and then thats was it, error message saying the ntldll.dll error (windows error).

No matter what i tried (reducing polygons, converting all to poly/mesh/ etc) nothing works.

The only reason why im using the plugin is the camera position. Tbh, until now, i still cant get arround me head of how to set the camera location manualy on octane so it appears exactly as in max.

Any idea what causes this one?

are you using 2.3_4? it's an almost bug free release (at least for me, I haven't been able to crash it yet ;) ) If I remember correctly either focal depth or lens aperture were causing octane to crash as reported by face, try to check both off. Also, did you try to export manually and then just type the x,y,z values in octane?

It hang (freez) whenever you make a speculer object completly transparent, and I have to restart windows, because even if I closed octane the process is still there. But I thought its not a big deal for now.

yeap, that's been there for a while, not always hangs it, just shoots sky high the calculations, so it stalls and sometime hangs depending of complexity, it seems completly transparent materials, not specular ones, give a rough time to octane.
