MRoz wrote:Hi Ahmet,

Since Release 3.08-RC1.1 I experienced weird things with PMC mode.
All my materials becomes white, lighting works but materials aren't.
I thought it was because my materials were created in an older version but it seems that it's the same with new ones and fresh scene.
Release 3.08test6.1 is working fine for me though.

Thank you,
Maxime
I have to bump up that post vom MRoz since I have experienced the same behaviour.
Old scenes completely ignore Octane Materials when working in PMC mode. The materials just render as diffuse gray.
For me copy / pasting the scene into a fresh C4D File helped.
Maybe there can be done something about it.

Sorry, I don´t have a example scene right now but it should be reproducible with any scene that was created in Octane 3.07 and before.

Tried it with Octane 3.08 RC3 on C4D R19.053

Cheers,
Raphael

Thanks for the new build.
Works fine on Mac Cinema 4D R19...

One strange thing: Textures are rendered differently on front and back normals...
What is your Mac setup? I have a 2013 trashcan with AMD cards and still can't get Octane to run (I have to run it on my Windows machine).

Hi frankjrmi,
currently you still need an Nvidia GPU to work with Octane on your Mac,.
Please, have a look at this alternative eGPU solution via Thunderbolt port starting from this discussion on the Otoy forum:
viewtopic.php?f=30&t=62409
In this way, you can use the internal AMD GPU for system/monitor/OpenGL, while the external GPU is used only for CUDA rendering, at full power and with all VRAM.
At the following link you can find an extensive guide about eGPU solutions via Thunderbolt under Mac:

Irradiance mode is ticked by default when opening a 3.07 scene in PMC. When I untick it, the materials come back from grey.
When creating a new scene in 3.08 it's unticked by default

Nice point. So it should be due wrong default value for the parameter. I'll fix if so. Thanks!

Hi Ahmet!
So, 3.08 is here!
Maybe I'm wrong, but clicking on button (Image texture)

to load a map, I get this:
02.jpg
Instead, as always, this
03.jpg
The same, the others channel...
Thank you

I don't know the why...

And crash frequently:

EDIT
The problem is caused by the "Camera Imager", when it is disabled everything works correctly!
Enabling from camera tag? Octane always have a camera imager effect as you did that or not. I'm not sure why it crashes but log points that a crash on the renderer.

Camera Imager cause only slow movements on Live Viewer, crashes are caused by problems that I don't know...

Thanks
