Could be a bug. Could you send me the room with only the chairs, so we can check? Thank you.aufwind wrote:Hi,
thanks for fixing the bump map issue with box projection.
I think I have found another issue with bump mapping.
The appearance of shiny materials with a bump map applied look quite different in 3.08 compared to 3.07.
Is this intentionally? When bump strength is set to 0 both look the same.
There's a lot of noise on the chairs on the right side, which didn't occur on 3.08 RC2

Thankyou so much! I was indeed confused as to driver versions.bepeg4d wrote:Hi,
I can confirm that 3.08 RC 2 and 3 works correctly on Mac with internal Nvidia or via eGPU, and you need to update both CUDA and GPU drivers to 387.xx, in both Sierra or High Sierra: ciao Beppe
Thanks also rrbarb for similar confirmation. I use a Mac Pro 2013 not the 2010/11 but still same same, really

Gonna jump on this today then and try it out!
Hi Abstrax, here a stripped down version of the scene. Thanks for checking.abstrax wrote: Could be a bug. Could you send me the room with only the chairs, so we can check? Thank you.

Thanks a lot for the reports. Yes, there was a bug introduced into the glossy material with RC 3, which Roeland fixed today. We found some other issue with the non-Octane BRDFs and try to solve it too and are planning to make another build tomorrow. Apologies for the trouble.

Hi Abstrax,
I found that displacement maps only work on the first uv set, other uv sets are ignored.

We are currently using only the CUDA 8.0 toolkit, because on our test iMac, the latest CUDA driver doesn't work. I.e. you should be able to use any CUDA driver that supports CUDA 8.0 or higher. I will update the release notes.lassinger wrote:gpu driver 387.xx is not available for Sierra... ;(
