Here's a link to this and its explanation. Is it possbile for octane to adapt this color space. It seems like a huge inprovement.

I'm interested in this as well. But I have a feeling it's all about the kernel settings...

Anything new on this? Is it possible to use the filmic blender in a custom Lut (3.08) or in Post (OpencolorIO for Aftereffects/Photoshop)?

aparently otoy is ignoring this request and acting like octane already has a higher dynamic range ... I remember I asked about dynamic range years ago, and now it's just obvious it needs this fix

ciao beppe
The custom LUT Node (as far as i know) expects a .cube file. It seems to be possible to bake Ocio Transforms to a LUT (http://opencolorio.org/userguide/baking_luts.html) but i don't understand how this works. Maybe someone smarter than me can bake the filmic blender and the looks to a LUT so we can use it in Octane 3.08.

Would this indeed be possible? I am not color expert enough by far to make this happen. But would love to see the differences in renders in the end!

Indeed .. if Octane would implement a new colour space like Filmic Render (In Blender) they'd have the only other system out there supporting a properly high dynamic range. Don't ignore this OCTANE .. BIG chance to do something extraordinary!!!!

In Octane is possible to load custom LUTs, which really opens for any color profile to be used.

Blender Filmic is based on ACES.

You can find many LUTs emulating the ACES workflow here:

Also, you can find a lot of nice LUT profiles here:
