Hi

I'm rendering an animation, Cinema R19, Octane 3.07-R2. The LV (size roughly matched to PV output) renders in 45s, but frames render in 2m 27s when initiated in PV. I also notice a difference in the sampling, less noise in some areas, more in others in the PV compared to LV. I also notice that update frequency is slower and less incremental in PV.

I'm network rendering to a PC with 2 cards, the local machine is a Mac with 1 thunderbolt card attached.

What settings might be causing this, it's a big difference?

Hi Beppe. I'm willing to bet its user error, as rendering animations is a bit new to me. I think it may be due to a difference in resolution as I'm matching the PV (at 100%) and LV sizes visually which is not very precise I admit. Is the LV image scaled up or displayed at a different zoom level than the PV? I'm sure its something obvious rather than a sw issue.

Hi,
in LV you can press the Lock icon to render at the same resolution as PV.

For animation rendering it is crucial to set the correct Geometry engine and control in Render settings/Octanerender/main tab:

Better to prefer the Manual or All movable mode, instead of the Auto mode.
Please, have a look at this document:

Ah, thanks beppe... I never use Lock normally (not much use for HR stills). Will try that and the settings info. Thanks!
