Hi, when dealing with hair ( mesh with opacity map ) octane slooow down a lot as there is many mesh with opacity map in front of each other.
Opacity is grey image, I would like to know if we can have black and white map, and if it could speed up the rendering ?

Hi HHbomb,
the only way to speed up the rendering is to disable the Alpha Shadow option, but this is not possible, most of the times.
It is far better to use cutted out instance geometry for grass, leaves, and so on, without alpha channel, to speed up the rendering.

maybe one day it will be possible to do alpha shadows per object. It would help SO MUCH.
