GOOD MORNING TEAM OCTANERENDER
I ADD IMAGE, THE IMAGE SALA 000 WAS MADE WITH THE OCTANERENDER 3.07 THE TIME WAS 3 MINUTES AND 45 SECONDS AND 1000 MAXSAMPLES
THE SECOND IMAGE WAS MADE WITH THE SAME PLUGIN AND DID TAKE OF 15 MINUTES, AND 10 000 MAXSAMPLES IS A LOT TIME
BOTH IMAGES WAS GENERATED WITH DIFFUSE AND DIFFERENT SIZE, THE FIRST IMAGE WAS DONE WITH SIZE 1943 X 1511 PX AND SECOND IMAGE WITH 1200 X 1000 PX
PLEASE, HELP ME TO UNDERSTAND WHY THE DIFFERENCE TO BOTH IMAGES
THANK YOU
A LOT TIME WITHOUT LIGHT

you should give more infos about your scene setup ( a screenshot of your whole 3d model ) to show lights positions, your settings, type of lights, how you make your carpet, and so on....

Hi merid888,
without knowing the scene, it is difficult to give a satisfactory response to your question. Considering you have exactly the same kernel setting between SA and 3dsMAx plugin,
then I think you're using an incorrect unit of measurement. Octane Render works in meters, then system unit scale 1 unit = 1 meters; in Unit scale display setup, enter whatever you want.
About the light sources, each light should be set to its real world wattage. This power will be multiplied by the texture input, where 1.0 means 100% of the power (so by default 0.025 means 2.5% gives 2.5W of light)

Are you saying that Octane doesn't correctly handle system units other than meters? What is your basis for this? If true, that would be a colossal oversight on Otoy's part.paride4331 wrote:Hi merid888,

Hi merid888,
I used a glossy glass instead of specular, added a portal, but something does not work properly, I think it depends on curtains and sofa geometries; in fact, by removing them the render is fast and without noise. try to check geometry.

GOOD AFTERNOON, I DON'T SAY NOTHING, MY UNITS ARE CORRECT IN METERS, I SAY A SIMPLE SCENE LIKE SALA 007 TOOK MORE TIME AND THE FIRST IMAGE WITH MORE THINGS TOOK LESS TIME
I DON'T WANT GENERATE A POLEMIC IN THIS SITE, JUST TRY TO UNDESTAND WHY TAKE MORE TIME AND MORE SAMPLES, IS ALL
ALWAYS I BEEN USED THAT CURTAIN, CONVERTED IN OCTANE PROXY
I FACT, ALL IS MODELING INTO 3DS MAX WITH LOW POLINGONS EXCEPT THE MOLDING
I BEEN ADDED THE FILE WITH SCENE COMPLETE BUT NOBODY SEE OR CHECK THIS ARCHIVE
THANK YOU FOR RESPONSE ME

I'm not sure what you are asking. In the second image you used 10x the max samples from the first, it is a bit smaller, and it took about 5x longer to render. That difference seems pretty reasonable to me.
Animation Technical Director - Washington DC
What I wanted to express is that the first image with more objects and a single light input that is a black body does not generate noise and the second image with the same parameters and fewer objects and everything in the same proxy, generates more noise and therefore the increase of the maxsamples
