Hi,
I have a lot of crashes when using the node editor.
They occur when I connect textures to materials or even when I connect them to a multiply, mix texture or anything of that sort.
I Run Cinema 4d R17 0.32. Win 7.
It happens on both of my machines.
Thanks!

Hi wuyue1990,
it would be better if you could share a c4d bugreport.txt:
viewtopic.php?f=86&t=54503#p285380
How much free VRAM do you have while working with materials?
Have you enabled the Out-of-core option?
Is the Synchronize on geo update option disabled in Octane Settings/Others?
ciao beppe

After reading this bug report, I've found out that I'm not the only one getting the same issue. I had this same error and crashes since version 3, version 4 and the most recent 2020.2.4-R2 version over c4d S22 and R23, doesn't matter if the scene is complex or as simple as a cube with a basic material, it is completely unexpected. Sometimes it doesn't crash at all, and suddenly it does, one thing is for sure it always happens while connecting or disconnecting a material node, doesn't really matter which one, it just crashes. In may case cinema4d just freezes, and I have to "end task" cinema4d in the windows task manager. In some situations (many times), I can't even re-open c4d after the crash and eventually had to restart the entire computer in order to open c4d again.
I've previously use a GTX 11gb card and had the issue as well, now I'm using a RTX 24 gb and continue to have this random problem while working in my scenes. I can't believe it is a matter of the graphics card, specially when you are working with simple geometry and simple 1k textures, I understand when I have a massive scene composed with hundreds of assets and materials, but when there's nothing that should make the system to crash it is completely awkward and frustrating.
If there's just a preferences box I have to tick to avoid this annoying constant crashing issue, I more than welcome to hear any suggestions. I can provide any technical detail about my computer setup and I'm adding the latest bug report when it happened the last time I ran into the issue.
Thank you in advance

Your bug report is not showing any crash in octane plugin. Do you have any other bugreport.zip from the moment of crash?totemstudio3d wrote:After reading this bug report, I've found out that I'm not the only one getting the same issue.
