Some users (including me) have shared this issue on Blender Octane Plugin facebook group. Border render looks deficient in Camera View during interactive rendering.

Hi nvision,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We will assess the best way of going forward - perhaps we can improve Octane in relation to the Border Render feature, or we could looking into exposing the Region Render feature native to Octane.
Thank you for your report.
Cheers,
Azen

The ability to use Standalone Render Region feature would be awesome to use in Blender. I find it extremely useful in rendering still images

Hi nvision, thanks for your report.
I have checked that on my end and it seemed correct. We can use border render in interactive mode in the two ways:
1. Ctrl+B(same as SA) then Ctrl+Z;
2. Enter camera view (Num 0) then Ctrl+Z with border option checked.

It's not ok DrawFun. Take a look at attached screenshot. There is an empty margin on the left and the bottom edge. Moreover when render border is enabled it renders to infinity ignoring the number of entered samples. This happens only when interactive preview is enabled. Final render is ok.

Hey J.C. I have this problem whenever I pan the viewport (SHIFT + MMB-drag) and render region is on. I have this problem since octane v2 - so for quiet a long time.J.C wrote:This happens only when interactive preview is enabled. Final render is ok.
Press the HOME button to reset your viewport.
Hope that helps.

...long, long time ago....SGI Octane 2xR10k 175MHz, 4GB RAM, MXI Graphics - and SGI o2, R10k 195MHz, 2GB RAM, AV I/O Board. Both on IRIX 6.5.

Thanks for the tip ChaosOver! This works as described. However border rendering is still buggy:
- If I change the size of the view margins appear.
- rendering does not stop regardless the given number of samples
- if I enable render border during viewport rendering it pauses for a few seconds after any changes were made.

I'm attaching screenshots to illustrate the problem. It occurs only in Camera View. On one image border is disabled, on the second - enabled. Any border render in viewport, camera view, is deficent for me.
