the sunlight seems more wrong than before... just fire up octane open for example the "octaneaxis" file and just move the hour slider from left to right, you'll see that the sun location jumps in a couple of points
Linux Mint 19.3 | GTX-1080Ti | AMD FX-8320 (OCed 4.4GHz) | 16GB RAM
we have not made any changes to that area, so i'd be suprised. did you double check with a previous release or 22b ?Synthercat wrote:the sunlight seems more wrong than before... just fire up octane open for example the "octaneaxis" file and just move the hour slider from left to right, you'll see that the sun location jumps in a couple of points

I think that the transmission section has some problems, on a plastic material changing the transmission color doesn't seem to change anything on 2.3_3 where on 2.3_2 it worked well.
AMD Phenom X4 965 B.E. / ATI 5850 1GB / Nvidia GTX 580 1.5GB/ 8GB ram / Win 7 x64
you're using the 'glass' material right ? could you post a screenshot with the marterial in the nodeinspector and the render so we can see in detail please ?Ayertosco wrote:I think that the transmission section has some problems, on a plastic material changing the transmission color doesn't seem to change anything on 2.3_3 where on 2.3_2 it worked well.

another: daylight system/ hour slider /
if you set the month to 6 with the other settings std at about 7.6 hrs and again at 16.7 the sun direction flips 180deg
Edit: oops I think Synthercat already reported this at the top of the page
although without detail. btw exactly when it flips varies a little with the other time settings

Hi,
ayertosco -> can you use some normal settings ?, eg use 1.5 as the IOR, and put the reflection on full power (eg 1.0, instead of 0.3)
also make sure you're using pathtracing with the default settings...

Using pathracing it's better but trying to achieve a translucent material (higher IOR, less reflections for example as in the first image) seems different from 2.3_2

That's exactly how the crash happens on my system. Octane is grinding something for a sec after you click the node, and then it exits.Elvissuperstar007 wrote:crash!!!! CUDA 3.1
