Image texture/border wrap issue

Hi,

I'm just trying to set up a render and I came across one issue with image texture. I've attached a picture below.
Basically - I'd like my texture to appear only in front of the geometry, but no matter what I do it appears on the sides too..
The border mode is set to black (but I've tried different modes too to check), I've tried different texture projections with no luck. Not sure what I can be doing wrong?

Common logical mistake you do. It's normal c4d result to see same textures on all sides of a cube.

Ok, I get it - in that case think I misunderstood how the "border wrap" works.

So I'm guessing the only way to prevent this is uv mapping right?

tweaking uvmapping or assigning different materials to sides.

Hi dephixeb,
have a look at this example with the Triplanar mapping node to assign the image only on the prefered side without selections:
