Forum rules
Before posting a bug report, please check the following:
1. That the issue has not already been disclosed
2. That the issue is specific to this plugin, and not Octane in general (Try reproducing it in Standalone)
Bugs related to the Octane Engine itself should be posted into the Standalone Support sub-forum.

All bug reports should include the information below, along with a detailed description of the issue and steps to reproduce it.
A. Operating System, including version (i.e. Win 7, OSX 10.11.2, Ubuntu 14.04, etc.)
B. Graphics Card(s) model (i.e. GTX 580 - 3GB, TITAN, etc.)
C. RAM Capacity (i.e. 6 GB)
D. Nvidia driver version (i.e. 7.50, 7.5.22)
E. OctaneRender Standalone version, if installed (i.e. 2.24.2, 2.23, etc.)
F. OctaneRender plugin version (i.e. v2.25 - 2.21)
G. Host application version, including build number if available (i.e. 3ds Max 2016 Build 18.0)

thanks for the release.

I encountered the following issues:

- adaptive sampling options aren't up to date expected exposure is missing (adaptive strength isn't used anymore)
- Octane camera settings Aperture slider seems to do nothing (f-stop is working)
- Normals autosmooth option in the object data tab isn't working properly when octane object mesh type is set to global
When having set different values for autosmooth angle only one is used for mesh conversion (see attached blend file)

- it will be fixed in the next release.
- you cannot set aperture and f-stop at the same time as they are used in different modes. You can achieve the same result by setting either of them (BlenderOctane will set value for the other one automatically).
- meshes assigned as global will be collapsed into one common mesh (https://docs.otoy.com/BlenderH/BlenderP ... yTypes.htm). Therefore, only one auto-smooth value(average value currently used) will be applied to the common mesh. You can use scatter type if you want to assign auto-smooth value for each mesh.

[I have a crash log file; available upon request]

Load a Blender project with Octane materials already set (not the one with Blender's default startup scene)

Problem:
Blender will exit with unexpected error when changing surface type drop-down menu in material tab window:

Replicate:
-> Material tab window
-> Surface, drop-down menu then choose any item
-> (crash)

To avoid the crash:
Use Node Editor to safely disconnect/connect all types of Octane shaders to Material Output.

Note:
I can easily replicate the same problem with pretty much any .blend project.

Never happened in previous versions.

I can confirm this too.

Thanks for your reports.
I cannot reproduce it in my end, both windows and mac. Did you turn on render mode? If so, was it interactive? What type of material did you use and did the OctaneSever crash too?
More information will be appreciated. Thanks.

The crashing occurred when interactive rendering was off and when changing from Diffuse to Glossy mat.
Unfortunately I can't reproduce it now . I happened twice before and now it's ok.

Mesh smoothing is still as bad as it was in 11.xx
Checkout the attachements. Blocky polygons are visible.

With the attached file you may replicate the bug in earlier post - crashing when changing material.

Ahh, flashback. See a topic below -- very similar (or the same) issue to yours.

Check node editor and see if anything is connected to Normals pin.

I've tested with solid view and render preview -- both will crash.
Materials, that's a good question. There's so many materials in the scene. If you want, I have a packaged .blend to send via PM. Does this forum permit large attachment in PM? The file is 100mb.
