Dear ahmet.
Im trying to use the "density"-setting of c4d-hair to reduce hair density at far distance in a scene, where i use hair to grow complex grass patterns. i use a proximal shader to achieve this, yet it does not work in octane as it does in c4d-render. any hints or ideas how to make this happen in octane?

Hi momade,
since the Proximal shader needs to be applied in the Hair mat, you should not have any issue with c4doctane: Have you tried to check if your setup works also in c4d standard render?

Hi Beppe.
As I said, it works in standard render, yet octane does not want to show the same result. what you have in your image, is the generic appearance of a proximal shader, i reproduced the same image.
look at the file attached and see what comes out of the c4d native rander vs. octane.

For me its the same. I have a scene here - when deleting a Node in one of the materials, c4d is freezing.eyeonestudio wrote:C4D Freezing : Node Editor - Delete Node - using "Del"Key
It is normal to disconnect the wire by dragging it with the mouse (the node still remains).
However, if you select a node and delete the node using the Del key, a problem arises.
Its not just when using the "delete" or "entf" key - its also when deleting with right click - delete node
I just noticed now that this is happening on every scene - even a complete empty scene with just one material.

Hey ahmet!
I'm having some problems using the matte shadow function for diffuse material for a plane, it doesn't seems to be rendering at all. Went back to 3.06 and same scene works fine.
Could you have a look at it?
Thanks!
Tomi

Well! It's a unexpected behaviour because that crash is not occuring on R18. I'll look why this arises.eyeonestudio wrote:C4D Freezing : Node Editor - Delete Node - using "Del"Key

Jeah its really strange. Iam on R19 - newest Version - newest Nvidia Driver.
I tried to reinstall octane - but the problem is still there. When deleting a Node, c4d freezes.

Using Octane-for-C4D-V3.07-Test3a on C4d R19. Latest Nvidia drivers on a GeForce 970.
The problem also occurs when deleting a material that is open in the node editor and has at least one active node.
Deleting a material when the node editor is closed does not cause problems.
Also, when changing things in the node editor, the display in C4d seems a bit sluggish
Thanks! I'm aware of crash issues in R19. Don't know why!offrench wrote:Same thing here.Jeah its really strange. Iam on R19 - newest Version - newest Nvidia Driver.
