Hello,
very new to Octane for C4D - I like it a lot.
Struggling with a few issues that I am trying to work out and any pointers would be appreciated.
I have a reflective object on a floor, I would usually put a C4D Compositing Tag on the floor and say uncheck 'seen by reflection' to stop the floor reflecting in the object, how can I do this in Octane?
and
With certain materials, pre Octane, I would apply an Alpha Mask if I was using some artwork that had some transparency (in a Potatoshop sense). For example, an aluminium can with artwork over the top that lets the aluminium show through in places. Now, I have watched a bunch of tuts but can't seem to solve this issue...

Hi Burgess AK,
in Octane there is not the compositing tag, you can assign an Octane Object tag with limited options, compared with the c4d tag.
It is possible to set the object to be invisible to the camera, do not cast shadows, or change the visibility, but you cannot hide an object in reflections and so on.
Please, share a screenshot to better understand the effect that are you looking for.
Abaut Alpha mask, you have two possibilities:
C4D Material Stacking
just place your decal with alpha as second material tag on your object.
Or you can use the Octane Mix material with the decal alpha in the amount.

This was perfect for helping me get my head around the Decal issue.
