Just saw this on the Asrock site. For bitcoin mining. Could it be used effectively with Octane?

I am looking here now too, It specifically shows a pic of 13 GEForce GTX cards (Nvidia), but only for Linux (???). It shows for Windows a hybrid of 5 Nvidia & 8 AMD...
It has just 2 memory stick slots.

BTW - look at this, by Setup Tip #1!

Looks like it's just Gen2 @ 1x.

At x1 it will be very slow for geometry transfer for Octane works...

I'd use Supermicro x10drx for 11 gpus at x8 :)

@Pegot -
Are you going to get this!?!!!
Someone has to try it out! :D

@Smicha -
When I saw the headline I was like, whoa - imagining 13 x 8x! :P

No. I just built a new computer a few days ago (only holds 4 GPU's though I have three in there now). And my first water cooling system.  But it does use an Asrock MB, which is how I found that 13GPU monstrosity.

this is a bit risky & slow for OctaneRender.

been to friend a couple of days ago - in few months 24/7 he burned quite a bit of risers/PSU wires, so putting everything together properly is needed, otherwise You might end up having not only melted wire & connectors, but also some issues with burned cards even system.

there are a lot of guys who run setups so they do work, just wanted to mention if You are planing long term investment.

24/7 - Wow!.....I forgot, there are some of us who are rendering almost non-stop. :o
Those 1x PCI inputs can be inserted incorrectly easily, an d if so possibly bye-bye GPU :?

Nice! Congratulations! BTW - you don't need 13 actual inputs to get 13 GPUs @ 1x. You just need enough PCI lanes (memory from CPU/mobo), and then a GPU splitter (ie an Amfeltec, or 2). A rig with 4 GPU at say 8x will likely expand to 5, 6, or 7 if you split a 8x PCI slot to 3 or 4 1x-connections. Smicha is wielding Ultimate Legendary power with 11 at 8x, the mobo he uses allows that!

it's not about inserting risers, but also about power draw through powered risers.. - I did see wires with melted molexes, sata even 6pins..- personaly I would avoid such route, unless all You care is how to things as cheap as possible.
