First of all, absolutely loving using Octane on all my jobs now. Have a firebreathing 4x 1080Ti machine ready to start tearing thru renders:)

Only problem is having no luck getting TFD volumetrics to render in Octane for LW. Please let me know which version of TFD I should be running to get it working in Octane 3.06.0.5 (currently running TFD build 1419) Should i update TFD to 1425 and it will start working? Also, it would be very helpful to post some documentation/tutorials on best practices for using TFD with Octane, as there really is no help out there on setting up a reliable pipeline for using the two together. I have seen some nice looking renders, but no docs on Otoy site or elsewhere on the proper setup to get this all working properly.

Again, Loving using Octane! Absolutely LOVE IT!!! Just need to get TFD back into my pipeline!!

cheers

Okay... Baby steps. Updated TFD to 1425 and got something to show up in IPR. Looks cool. I reference the TFD CACHE and all is well except Octane only sees one frame of the CACHE at render time, even tho i do NOT have "Render fixed frame" checked in the Octane_Volumetrics TFD tab. F10 render also only renders first frame of CACHE. In IPR, if i move the time slider and then hit Reload it updates, but if i don't hit reload, it keps rendering the same frame no matter where my time slider is. Please help! I can taste it! Almost working:)

Okay- got it to update in IPR by ticking the "Volumetrics IPR update" checkbox in Plugin Options. But still no love in the F10 render seq. still renders first frame of cache. Anyone with an answer please help:)

Hi,

If you are rendering in update mode, you must enable the "Update Volumetrics" option in the render target root node options panel.

Thanks,

Full scene reload mode fixed the "first cache frame only" problem... now on to how to make the volume look good:) Sometimes it helps to post with myself i guess:)
