i am going out of my mind.
i am testing something out:
having a single map, scaled down and mapped onto an object but not tiled - like a decal or something similar.
problem is: the displacement map i am using with the same map is disregarding the MODE option.
i tried it in max - sam problem.
this cant be right can it?
Displacement map always tiled

Yes mode is not working with displacement. Displacement node is very limited to use just imagetexture also.

It's not a plugin limitation. Does not looks like a easy fix in the renderer as my previous questionto team. Better to make a request in standalone topics.crackfox wrote:thanks,
i found later a similar post to mine.
is this something that could be fixed down the line or should i just find a workaround and forget about it?

16 and 32 bit are preferred for smoother results. If you note that in settings/c4dShaders, there's activated option named as "floattexture for displacement". It's activated for c4dshader conversions for getting the smoother results like in my advice.TonyBoy wrote:Hi Ahmet,
just to be clear, is the use of a 16 bit height map image the preferred input for displacement?
