So I've imported a Model from DAZ and I'm trying to render it via 3Ds Max. I'm doing render test for the skin but I'm not sure why it's not working, It's just displaying matt grey texture.
I was wondering if anyone could help
I have a similar problem. Just got the max-plugin recently. Usually i only use octane to render scenes that i make from scratch. Yesterday i tried to import a character from DAZ3D to try out some new workflows. character is displayed correctly in the display-port but just renders in gray. Materials in the material-editor are of course all blacked-out because they are no octane materials. Is there are an easy way to make textures work after an import. Would be a huge pain in the ass the create all materials from scratch again after import.
Hi Tfrank,
Are you also using Octane DAZ3D plugin?
If you created Octane DAZ3D materials then you could save them and import using your LocalDB
Otherwise you have to create new Octane materials.
Octane 3dsMax converter tools converts V-Ray materials not DAZ3D.
you can find in LiveDB some skin shaders where import your textures.

thanks for the reply. No, I only use the 3Dsmax plugin. Ok, thanks for clarifying. I'll create new materials in Max.
I have one more question, because there is no real documentation of the Plugin. I found an option to export Octane-Materials from Max, where/how can I import materials from my LocalDB or LiveDB?
