I have a 3x 1080 system, and I have two questions:

1.- While rendering to LV, I select 2 of the 3 GPUs and set to High Priority. Does this mean that Octane will use these two GPUs at 100% to render to LV and leave the other GPU alone for the system?

2.- When rendering to PV I know there's an option to "Use all GPUs", but what If I want to make Octane only use 2 out of the 3 GPUs to render to PV? just leave "use all GPUs" unchecked?

I think this is specially useful for people that have for example 2x Titans and one GTX970. I would like to use the two Titans for LV and PV and leave the GTX970 alone for other system tasks.

Thank you in advance!
My system specs:
AMD Ryzen 7 1700
GeForce GTX 1070 x2
16GB Ram
Running Windows 10

Hi jsuarez388,
1. no, Priority option is only for GPU connected to a monitor, so in your case you have to leave unticked.
2. just don't use the Use all GPUs option, in this way, only the GPUs active in the Devices tab will be used.
Happy rendering,

Thank you for the information. Can you explain a little better how priority works then?

I usually select 2 out of my 3 GPUs set to medium priority. Is there a link you can give me that explains how priority works?

It is really simple - you can use a GPU or you not use it. If you use the GPU you can use it with 100% power or you can use it with a _lowered_ priority.
So if you check priority it means the GPU is used but not at 100%.

Hey Zoppo,

Thank you for the answer. So it doesn't really matter if my monitors are connected to that GPU, right?

So, this setup means that one of my GPUs is set to 100% and the one withouth Priority is low? Or is it the other way around where right now both GPUs are set to 100%?

Hi jsuarez388,
you have to use the Priority option for all the GPUs connected to a monitor, in this way a portion of the GPU is leaved for managin the monitor. I don't have the exact numbers, but, just to give you a better idea, let's say that, with Low priority you have a 20% of GPU for the system, while in Medium 10%, and finally in High only 5%.

Use for tonemap must to be desabled if the specific GPU is connected via low speed PCI x1 raisers.

Hey Beppe,

Thank you for the clarification. How do I know which GPU is connected to the monitor if they all have the same name?
