Hey guys, ever since I made the scene i am working on, every time i need a preview of the scene, it takes too long saying "Render target evaluation on server", why so slow all of a sudden?

ya but ive been using scatter for a lot of geometry for subdivision. when i set to global the subdivision doesnt work. I had to use octane render subdivision vs blender because blenders was running too slow. what should i do?

Hi adamrg7,
I guess that you have already the best option. Having the ability to subdivide at render time leaves the hierarchy and the scene lighter, and you have the correct resolution in the final frame.

ya but its taking long when it says render target on evaluation server.. 8 seconds just for that, everytime i make one tweak preview takes 8 seconds THEN starts rendering

Bump this topic.
this is a huge issue once polys get slightly higher. I did a bunch of low poly cars group instancing with octane render, and it cannot handle it, but cycles render engine is instant loading of scene.

what is wrong here? this keeps happening with every scene i build and i cannot complete projects at all.

I used scatter in the render settings and that change this scene.

i have other scenes tho with scatter set on most geometry for rendertime subdivision, still render target evaluation server hangs at about 5 to 10 seconds.
is this normal? its just annoying for every single material tweak this happens
