I have a few projects that make Ocatane for LW crash / freeze after rendering 99% or so.
Anyone experiencing this? it happens with both Octane 2 and 3 versions.

Hi,

What version of the plugin are you using, the latest 3.05.3.0 one? Also, are you working with network rendering?

Anyway, if you want to pack and send me the scene with this issue, I could test it here.

Thanks,

using 3.03
network render, but fails also on main workstation.
it seems to happen a lot with scenes that are close to using up Vram and in resolutions of arround 7000-8000 pixels wide X 4000 Vertical.

Out of core creates even more unstable behaviour.

Currently upgrading my 780ti to current 10 series with 8gb vram gpus.

i cant sent files, client confidentiality and they are BIG!

lots of tress and instances....

vram used 1900 / 2200.....

Can be a problem related to having very low available VRAM while finishing the rendering, but I'm not sure. If you can attach the log file that you get after a freeze, this could help. You can enable the log file in the plugin options panel.

Anyway, if possible update the plugin to the latest 3.05.3.0 build.

Thanks,

It is also my feeling it runs out of Vram to "build" the final file, even if it renders it. The pitty is that crashes LW as well.

The log file can have some clues about this issue. Inside there are reports about the available VRAM for each frame, and the possible CUDA errors due to memory issues.

Thanks,
