A. OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 Pro Version 10.0.14393 Build 14393
B. Nvidia GTX 1070 x 3
C. 32 GB RAM
D. Nvidia Driver 372.70
E. Octane 3.03.4
F. Octane-for-C4D-V3.05.3-win
G. Cinema 4D R17.055 (Bild RB174353)
1. ANIMATED TEXTURES/TIFF SEQUENCES DO NOT SHOW UP IN PICTURE VIEWER when placed in OPACITY channel,
2. But, animated texture show up in LIVE VIEWER, BUT DO NOT UPDATE consistently randomly skipping frames or stalling in the sequence
3. To clarify, image sequences behave in other documents: This document has more than two layered materials, both with image sequences in opacity channel.
4. I can't seem to get the scene file to attach, its fairly large but does upload. However after that I don't see any sign that it has attached to the post,
This is a bit of a crippling bug for me since I need to animated surface properties for a client, and I need to be able to animated texture opacity using pre-rendered image sequences.
Previous help has been very appreciated, and sorry if this has been covered somewhere before,
* I've tried several times to upload attachments, but the scene files is large because of the image sequences,
REPOST: Image Sequence Not working as expected[SOLVED]

Could you upload a scene with just related part and a few sample images from sequence. As i said in other post this is not expected and known issue. So sample is a must. Thanks.

The objects labeled "wall" have the stacked materials, four total to make the transformation.
It's more clear now and that's why i want a sample scene always. Your message does not contains any words about usage as stacking. That's not directly a image sequence problem.
Please check the attached picture for exported Octane Scene Graph. Here we have a special material tree which have stacked materials for each objects. And these are not getting updated until a change on mesh data or material data. So that's about a missing detect/update problem for this system. It's a bit harder and longer than normal material updates. It will require full update for related materials and current mesh. I hope this is clear?

Very clear, and I appreciate the quick response.
I mistakenly used the term "layered" and what I meant was "stacked, "
Yes, if I remove any stacking, there is not issue
Unfortunately I need to use stacking to simulate different finishes being added to this construction project,
So back to C4d internal for now,
I'll be on the lookout for a patch,
Octane for C4D is by far the best render engine I've used, and responsive support is super helpful,

I'm glad to able to explain that. There's a workaround. Just animate some vertex on assigned mesh. Stacked variant of materials and mesh will be updated. At least i hope so. I'll try to fix this issue on next build.
Uups: you may try to force updates with an object tag. It should work in theory

I'll try that workaround,

Forcing updates with an object tag works for now,
Back out of the C4D internal renderer dark ages
Thanks,
