Is this going to be a feature for Lightwave?

I suppose that these renders have been made using the environment medium feature, already available in the LightWave plugin.

Thanks,

Okay, so how/where do we add this environment medium?

The environment medium input is located in the render target environment nodes. I think that I had posted a sample scene some time ago. Here you have it again. It is easy to configure, but you must play with the medium node in your particular scene because the effects depends on several parameters, like the scene size or the lighting setup.

I'm trying to adjust environnement Near and Far. Ex : Near 4m : 0 % fog and Far 15m : 80% fog
Is it possible ?

Not like in LightWave. Remember that this is not a post effect using the Z buffer, or the camera or reflected/refracted ray lengths, so it is not as simple.

This is a true participating media volumetric rendering. You can control the medium radius, that is the size of the sphere, centered in the camera, where Octane computes the environment medium, but you need to use the medium node parameters to control the scattering and volume effects. Usually, the medium radius has a huge impact on the volume density, so you should play also with this value.

Try it to see what happens, but a negative medium radius makes no sense at all ;)

Thanks,
